| 2. | Why do we ship peonies in the fall? |
Peonies planted in spring, sometimes fail because the root development does not keep pace with plant growth.
Even if they don't fail, they don't do as well the following spring as the fall planted divisions. This is because the fall planted divisions have had several weeks of growing time to develop new roots. This is particularly important if the spring is hot and dry.
